the artists' book

considering that their artistic research is rooted in the written sign and its associated meaning, it should come as no surprise that the artists' book has been the shared passion of the couple over the long 55 years of their partnership.

they first experimented with this art form in the early 70s, quickly establishing themselves as pioneers and innovators in the niche.

their contribution to the field is extensive and impressive:

they both produced countless examples of artists' book that transformed over time as their artistic phases evolved.

in 1983 they founded the artists' book archive with the intention of collecting, preserving, cataloguing and promoting artists’ books in the world.

this grew to become one of the most significant archives in italy.

they curated over 70 exhibitions on the subject in italy and abroad.
